IMAGE // Editorial Image

Today we were given our first weekly brief for the Image sessions. Working with three articles we needed to produce relevant visuals in the spaces sounding, working to 3 different formats. The articles we are working with are below;

The articles deal with a range of subjects to pick up on, the first  article talking about how we underestimate the scale of the size of big numbers through general human judgment. It relates this to alot of different factors of life such as how the guilt between thinking about 1 starving child and 1,000,000 starving children doesn't seem to differ in your mind. It also talks about how we generally recognize a million, a billion and a trillion as close together on a scale of size, however it is in fact the opposite.

I would like to mainly focus on the aspect of scale within this article, I think using some space imagery to show the scale of the universe would relate quite nicely. The fact of the matter is the Universe is huge and we know hardly anything about it, we are just insignificant specs of dust when we think about how far the galaxies stretch and how little we have explored. I want to try and use a different media for each image I create, for this one I think some sort of digital collage would work well.

Article number two talks about do infections wither as we get older and weighs up how our body may be able to prevent infection through preserved antibody aided in curing previous illnesses in your body. It goes on to talking about the amount of radiation x-ray scanners emit when used in screenings.

Finally, Article number three is all about How relationships within facebook work, and how you and your partner share friends. Not my favourite of the three, mainly because Facebook has not only ruined my life and will ruin yours, but they sell too much information to third parties. But however It has alot of subject matter to play with, definetly not sticking to a royal blue colour scheme, eurgh.

After reading through the articles, we were told to produce a rational of our intentions of where we intending on going from this point in time. A photocopy is below;
